A week or two ago, I ventured down to Owen House Wedding Barn in the heart of the Cheshire countryside for a Photography Workshop. This rustic barn venue is a personal fav of mine, ever since I photographed Claire & Carl’s Wedding there a few years ago.
The workshop itself was run by the very talented Jonny Draper. It was fabulous to listen, learn and watch Jonny in action, along with meeting lots of like minded photographers. Workshops are a great way to get your geek on, learn new techniques and generally experiment with ideas . . . this one was no exception. I drove home that night buzzing with ideas. Now I’m super excited about my upcoming weddings!

James and Sarah’s Alice in wonderland themed wedding took place in April at the very beautiful Saltmarshe Hall, Yorkshire. They both run a film company in York so I was super excited to see what creative ideas they had for their big day. The hall was bustling with activity when I arrived, Sarah & James were getting ready at different ends of the large country house. This meant I could run in between rooms for sneaky photographs during the morning preparations. Sarah wore a beautiful Phil Collins Bridal dress her flowers were from Fulford Flowers in York and makeup was done by Kristen Spitty. Even their loveable dog Pippin had his own professional haircut for the Wedding! Continue reading
Rachael and Andrew’s wedding took place in Kirkby Lonsdale at St. Joseph’s Church then on to The Wild Boar at Crook near Windermere. It was a real family affair, Andrew’s mother made the cake, his father married them in church and the flowers were made by a family friend. Rachel wore a Benjamin Roberts dress that was perfectly complimented with a pearl head piece which looked stunning. Once at the Wild Boar the staff drove us in their Land Rover into the surrounding woodland for some portraits of the Rachael and Andrew. These guys were an absolute pleasure to photograph. Here is a tiny selection of photographs from their wedding day. Continue reading
Emma & Nick’s fairytale wedding took place at St Mary & St Cuthbert Church Chester-le-Street then onto Durham Castle for their reception. When I arrived at Emma’s parents place the house was a hive of activity. Emma wore a stunning lace gown by dress designer Mori Lee whilst her bridesmaids all wore deep navy dresses each twisted differently to suit their individual style. Emma and Nick’s day was full of little personal touches from leaving the church under an archway of oars to the personal letters that they had written to every single guest who attended the wedding. These guys were so much fun to photograph, they simply giggled all day long. Continue reading
